History 1983 to Present:

For the past 27 years Joe Palumbo has contributed to this area's development of quality soccer players in a big way! through Joe's dedication to the sport of soccer and commitment to kids he was able to serve over 100 children per week at his camps at Club Fit Health Club in Jefferson Valley in the early 80's.

Local schools such as Lakeland High School, Yorktown, Walter Panas, Mahopac, and Somers reaped the benefits of Joe's soccer programs at Club Fit.  Soon not so local high schools such as John Jay East Fishkill, Arlington and programs in Dutchess County flocked to join the well-kept secret of the kids success.  As a result players like Jeff Matteo, Craig Capano, who played professionally in the MLS, and Edson Buddle who is currently on the US National Team and now playing for Ingolstadt 04 in Germany, were Joe's initial pro prospects.

Every parent wanted his or her child to be trained by Joe Palumbo.  Because of Joe's passion for the game, and teaching ability, kids became instantly drawn to his soccer programs.  Joe's ever-growing membership became too big for Club Fit to house.  Joe realized that soccer for the kids was not going to be fulfilled at a health club, and so he began to search for an area that would fulfill his dream of creating a true Soccer Academy.

Today after a lot of sweat and perseverance Joe has his dream at Joe Palumbo Soccer Academy here in Putnam Valley NY.  It is the most beautiful setting for fulfilling his drive to create a soccer school for children to learn the game of soccer.  With privacy and space it is a home for kids who love the game of soccer.  The harmony of nature and hard work provides a place where the kids development is what's most important.

Joe Palumbo Soccer Academy is the only True Teaching Academy!  Because we train kids from so many different communities, this year Joe has relinquished its team travel program and will stay sonsistent in development of individual players through our year round Instructional programs, Camps, and Tournament Team play through the U.S. Club Soccer Auspices!  As a result we can now concentrate on the development of soccer players regardless of what town they play for or what travel or premiere team they belong to!
